Turkey Trip, & TV Program - Little eyes see the world

Just returned from Turkey trip (biz, of course!)... hmm.. it's really different - 1st time i'm in a Muslim country.... English doesn't take you too far, and can't deny customs are really different - food isn't the best (as I don't really like lamb - and no chicken on the menu due to avian lu)... so all I had is really beef.. =6 but for sure it's a pretty city (well, if it's not that cold it'll be better)...

Anyway, I think I'll save my reports tmr :P

A bit jet lag, so still watching TV - came across a program called 小眼睛看世界 made by Japanese TV crew - a documentary about a village girl in China struggling to get her secondary education.

Probably not the best "program" to watch - as at the very end there's no "good ending" - because her fmaily can't finance RMB 300 registration fee (~US40) and so she has no other choice but to stay home - although her open exam's result qualify her for the best secondary school in her region.

RMB300 - not too much to many of us - but to her family it's already 60% of the WHOLE YEAR's income. I mean if i were one of the crews i'll probably just fund that RMB 1000 for her whole yr's expense (since the secondary school is very far away she has to live on campus and all the misc. ~ 700) - not that I've a lot of $, but that I just think spending this RMB 1k worths a lot more than other spending that I've spent on other things...

I don't know what'd happened to this girl... and i know in reality thousands and thousands of similar cases happened on a daily bases - not only in China, but around the world... The documentary states that at least 10% of children in China are facing this problem and the Chinese Gov't are starting to fund by scholarship and stuffs...

i really hope that this girl can't reach her dreams one day - to be the teacher in her own village to teach the younger generations...
