True Love Never Runs Smooth~~

Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year - 2nd day of the 4-day long weekend. Well, only SLEPT SLEPT SLEPT on the first day of the holiday (last day of yr Roaster) - and today, mom went to Aunt's place to "celebrate the new yr" (count me out for those type of gathering!) ANYHOW, stayed home - and decided to "boil" Japanese Drama - one of the "activities" that many of us did back in long holiday during school time...

Actually found these VCDs while I was cleaning up my room earlier - went to Taipei w/ Yekini 2+ yrs ago and got a whole bunch of Japanese Dramas - actually watched these series a LONG TIME back (back in Purdue time), just never really own it during school days and just wanted to own it when i could afford.

I never really opened these boxes since I got them from Taipei - well, until now. Between Love Generation & Long Vacation I chose Love Generation...

Hmm.. let's put it this way - I actually didn't remember much about the story - only remember the series was VERY popular in HK when it first shown - esp. w/ that crystal apple, and the famous "love bridge" that still many couples takes honey moon picts at. It basically is a love story started between 2 employees of an ad office in Tokyo - Katagiri Teppei (Kimura Takuya / 木村拓哉) & Uesugi Riko (Matsu Takako /松隆子).

Story itself is very simple (and ha, the budget I believe is very low too!) but then, for some reason back then is just popular - ppl just "buy" the idea. I think I like it a lot more when I first watched it (more touching and stuffs?) but this time when I "re-watch" it - after so many yrs (8 yrs!!) - hmm, w/o remember ANY part of the story (except some in the last episode), I feel... well, I mean, okay, in some parts it's still touching... but not as "touching" as the first time I watched it - maybe b/c I know the ending? maybe I know what to expect?

or maybe I just know it's too "ideal" & just a fairy tale?

I'm not sure... I guess it's still nice to watch these ancient series once in a while - kept thinking Kimura Takuya is now a DAD, and what'd happened to Matsu Takako? am not too sure... oh, also reminds me the time when I was watching it at Vick's room @ Meredith... (now I wonder how in the world she can get the VCD SO QUICKLY after the release?!) hahahaha.. oh, and not to mention the time when I watched all these Japanese series at B10 Math Building (the only lab that open 24 hrs..)

I believe Japanese series never get as popular as these in the last few yrs... the audience market "occupied" by the Taiwanese/Korean series... but then, afterall, the theme songs just "burnt" in my "hard disc" - can hardly forget it :)

and maybe naive to believe their theme - "True Love Never Runs Smooth" :P

P.S. Still found a very GOOD link (not broken after all these yrs!) for Love Generation - in case anyone would like to know more of this series which first shown in Japan during 1997 Oct - Dec :)

In memories for my sister Yan

Today is the day my "sister" Yan past away...

Yan is my uncle's daughter - as we share the same last name, in Chinese we call each other "sister" (in western world she's my cousin)... she's less than a year younger than me...

Actually i wasn't really close to Yan since i left to US - hmm.. i guess we grown up just totally different - she probably knew A LOT more than me - when i was still in the naive college world... i'm so much more chicken when compare to her in many ways... she's stronger in many ways too...
The time i remember Yan the most was the time the 4 sisters of us - me, my sis Ceci, Yan, and her sis yoyi spent endless weekend together - in their house, or our house in Stanley... we used to get in troubles together when we stayed in Auntie Or's place.... i used to gang up with yoyi while Yan gang up with Ceci... most memorable one was the time the 4 sisters of us took our picts at Ocean Park...

we just grown up together, like real family

there're lots of dramatic things happened in her life... nevertheless it all came to an end today.

Rest, my sis, don't worry, no matter what'd happened, we're a family afterall, i'll try my very best to take care the rest of the family. Now it's just time for you to rest...

Hiking 2006 - Wilson trial

It has been a LONG time since I last stopped by... well, was quite busy at work since the new year... and just sooooo exhausted whenever i got home - and never really stop by...

oh well, it happens :P

AND i've been SO HEALTHY since the beginning of yr 2006! *ROFL* Well, let's see... never a SINGLE day got up later than 11 *don't misunderstood - it's NOT one of my NY's resolution - NEVER! hahaha) what else... oh, played badminton TWICE *thanks for wittybb booking the court loh* and then HIKING TODAY!!
As far as i can tell it has been MORE than TWO years since the last time i went hiking (yep, an "unforgettable" CHRISTMAS DAY HIKING @_@'') hahahahhaa..

ANYWAY, so today i went to hiking AGAIN with the "ASAT Alumni" *ROFL* After voting we've chosen Route 19

I think it should be okay as it said it's suitable for family. *HAHA* so 10 of us, got up SO EARLY ON A SUNDAY MORNING, got ready for THE HIKING - we first ride #6 and started off at the Wong Lai Chung Reservoir...

All WENT WELL for the 1st hr gae - the view over repulse bay is super... and the road is "okay no problem" - WELL, until we walked down a couple hundreds steps down to the valley... Instead of Route 19 - my dear friends decided all go to Stanley to have "tea"

*us at the green spot (and pointing to the final destination near Stanley*

I looked up the stairs.. and I was like "oh SHIT, i'm going to die"....

but then i think "okay, 1 hill... let's see what'd happend... worse is that i return w/ the same route (or DIE)" *so naive!*

I just CURSE ALL THE WAY when i was climbing those stairs... *my gosh - buddies, i really have to apologize for that...* :P

didn't take much picts taken after this - as i was TOO BUSY catching up my breath *ROFL* (I'll probably throw in more after i got the picts from the rest) Well, ANYWAY, it is actually very nice to be up there gae - just that it would be better if i stayed LONGER hahahahahaha

AND that's not it - Chinese has an old said "There's always another hill taller than the previous one" (1 Shan wan yau 1 shan go) - it's SO True - after I climbed that 1000+ stairs - there're TWO MORE HILLS AHEAD @_@'''

ANYWAY, I'll keep this short - as there's NO MORE Picts taken in between - I REALLY think i'd DIE *w/o enough oxygen when going up* OR DIE as i'd never be able to "walk down" (you won't believe!!!!! *geez*

ANYWAY AFTER TWO+ hrs of STRUGGLES I FINALLY reached the destination - and i feel SO BLESSED that i'm STILL ALIVE - I felt like i'd lost my feet as if they ain't mine anymore!! wakakkakakakakakakakakakaa... AND turn out later tonite Big 0 told me we've finished one of the "Strenuous" grade of Wilson trail V_V''

@_@''''''

oh well, at least i've done it, i guess :P Actually I feel REALLY blessed to have this group of "alumni" to hang out with - i feel so touched they'll "bring" me along - they should be able to finish the trial in less than 2 hrs but since i was there it took us ALMOST 3 hrs to finish today's hike! I would like to dedicate a special thanks to ALL OF THEM:

  • for waiting for me, and get bored while waiting for me at each chking pt - w/o actually any "gip-ping" me! *at least i didn't hear!* hahahhaah
  • for bringing the extra water, or i'd die of thirst :P
  • for taking up my jacket all along
  • for cheering me ALL ALONG with "Just think of the GOODIE TEA TIME at Stanley" hahahahaha
  • for taking the picts - as i can no longer be the cameraman for most of the trip!!
  • for keeping me company, brought & helped me to do something that i would NEVER accomplish myself!!
  • Last but not least, a special thanks to Captain - w/o Captain I'd REALLY STUCK in the middle of the hill (as i don't know how to walk down) @_@'' Captain had actually RISK his life of being CRUSHED if i ever fell! wakakakakakakakkakakakaka *and then we would probably REALLY need to call Ekin Cheng (the air rescue team)* hahahahaha... *and captain, i'll know what to do when it's ur turn to *dung dung dung dung* w/ Mrs. Captain ga la!! >=>

Today I'm physically very very tired - but spiritually feel very very fulfilled!!!!!

I already feel so blessed in 2006 :)

Theme Song Review (Moonlight in Tokyo)

So i watched Leon & Chapman's Moonlight in Tokyo the other nite... digging the theme song yesterday - by Kwong Leong -

Personally i think the song doesn't really "match" the movie?! but definitely a very good song :) *i just like his style la* hehehehehehee
