Dusty picts...

House just finished renovation... still dusty everywhere... yukky...

Flipping through some old picts... from secondary school to.. recent one... still think school time was the best... but also see the difference in the years (I can't believe my hair once was so RED - and skin used to be so nice X_X) XD hahahahahaaa
Wonderful moments like (in no specific order)...
  • Tiramisu (okay, there's too many of them, Maggiano (x2!), MN, Germany)
  • First time I wore a DRESS to his birthday party (my gosh, it was a DISASTER (& maybe that's called the "shadow" from "childhood" such that I never wear one these days??) hahahahahahhahaaa... I can't believe I did it for him - I guess there's always the "first time" hahahahhaa
  • First Face Painting: a Braves on my face to show some school spirit :P
  • First Snow Angel :) (probably the ONLY one too) :P
  • Moxie Java with my Angel Girl (I'm so grateful to know her in my life)
  • My first Cat *and the only one as of now* - Little Scare - thanks to my grandson
  • My engineer's ring (well, although my dear friend just took the pict of my BACK - but I remember back then him being there meant a lot to me :) - only sad thing I guess is that I lost my ring BEFORE I was an engineer - I wonder if they ever give you a replacement?!
  • My GraduationS, of course :P (& many others' as well) :P
  • Last HotPot in US (that is esp. GOOD b/c I practically did NOTHING - not even cook/prepare the food/wash the dishes for THAT MEAL, I didn't get that much of a chance like this when I was back in Lafayette) XD
  • My Sister's Wedding (OF COURSE!!!!!!) :) I don't know how much I love my sister until then! REALLY
  • Leisure trips (NY, Boston, Seattle, Indy, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Toronto, St. Louis, Chicago, DC, MN, Shanghai, Taiwan) * I don't consider Boise/West Lafeyette are one of these places as I think they're my "hometown"*
  • Last Day in ASAT (although I was "happy" to leave back then... when I look myself in the picts now I seemed to be really happy & enjoying the moment back then.... *that's very sad*
  • Wonderful Hawaiian Beach *so relaxing!*
  • My wonderful Baby Elvin (he brings so much in my life!)
  • Last but not least, of course (save the best for the last) - My mom, she's always there for me, every moment in my life.... :~)

of course, there're so many other more... and I can't believe I had been working for 5 yrs! FIVE years... really getting so old.... so many ppl in the picts whom now I have no idea where in the world they're... some are still, well, somehow, "keep in touch," just haven't speak to them for AGES... *or vice verse some I've been talking to once in a while but haven't see them for AGES*

Although heart may not be as tightly held together anymore, the idea of "knowing her/him is doing good in life now" is actually fullfilling. heard about this idea a long time back... but really feel that tonite when flipping through the old picts...

Another thing I realize is that most of the moments that are "precious" and recorded in these picts are either "first" or "last" time series - lately I've been thinking it's WRONG, every day shall be precious. Talk to the person like the last time you talk to them, welcome them like that last time you can host them... who knows, maybe I'll die the next day... don't want to left out anything b/c of some unexpected...

and maybe b/c having digital camera these days? I think I took a lot more picts these days - but only in softcopy form.. never really print them out anymore (well, maybe except sis's wedding)... probably another reason why my "new" albums never fill up with "recent" life...

hmm.. probably time to get some reprints...

P.S. I think one of the good things about these picts are that only "Happy Moments" are captured :)

Another way of relax...

Just like many other nights - I've bought my laptop home and wanted to do some "work" - but after midnight I found that actually I enjoy (and feel so RELAX) to do laundry (rather than digging my head back to the reports)...

what's wrong with me?! @_@''

VOMIT....

you see, interesting thing is that at one point in life you would be so fond on some cultural cuisine, "complaining" that you don't get one decent & traditional one nearby... Yet once when you've too much in a short time, I mean TOO much in a SHORT time - you're, just like how they said in the Indian way, "Done & finished" (shaking your head while you're saying it)

*sigh*

See, what'd happened is that I USED to LOVE Indian food... I love the special spices they've in each dish, the different style of each region (my personal favorite is south Indian - a bit creamy & non-spicy). I used to have Indian food once in a while with friends.

I should say - before my last trip to Africa - after 2 wks of continuous Indian food.

@_@;;;

You see, I believe most Chinese will find Indian food is either 1) too spicy, 2) too spices (too many spices) & 3) too rich, ESPECIALLY when you've to have it like every meals. Gosh, I can just remember I NEVER EVER step inside a single Indian Rest since last trip in Aug 2004 - whenever I get a chance. It was THAT bad...

& now, after almost 9 months since then, I THOUGHT somehow I had get over it... but NO! I was wrong!! Even NOW when I'm writing this I feel like VOMITING *I DID vomit earlier tonight* the thing is they're so rich that now my stomach is REALLY UPSET - & some spices is sooo strong I almost DIE when I taste it (but couldn't throw up in front of the host)!

I believe it's also a psychological thing...

=6

You know, traditionally Indians will ask you to go to their home to show their warm hospitality - to welcome you & treat you as a friend. It is actually very precious that someone from India ask you to go to his/her home to have a home-made dinner. BUT the thing is, day 1 Mr. A the dept manager will welcome you from HK, Day 2 Mr. B from sales team will treat a colleague ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way from HK, and Day 3 Mr. C suggested that when you're on the ghost road & stuck in traffic there's a nice Indian fast food/snack bar around the corner... & Customer D also want to show you the BEST Indian restaurant in town.................

the base line is I think to show some respect you should appreciate the food w/ good heart... I do, in a way, & very grateful for such arrangement & acceptance w/in the community... I really do... BUT my body just can't take it anymore..........

WHEN CAN I ESCAPE FROM THESE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? *or is there any anti-upset-stomach" medicine for "Indian food allergy"???
