so 1st day "back to work" and spse to go to DG today - but ha ha, still typhoon #8 and will likely to remain until 10 so i don't think i've to go! HAHAHAHAHAHAH

well, wait, i hope i don't have to go at 10.... hmmmmm

A note from Bangkok...

So here i am in bkk airport, just another hr before heading home. Not the firsr time to be in bkk aiport (too many transfer via bkk b4) jusr the 1sr Real leisure trip to bangkok.
Flying China airline biz class, staying in Four seasons bkk, ha, a 'luxury' package *LOL* Didn't really plan much here, just shopped a lot, at a lot, read a bit and just relax :)
The hotel isn't as grand as i expected, oh well, and bkk to me is a lot more developed than i thought haha... I don't really think i'll come back any time soon - as i prefer sunshine + beach rather than city like bkk

anyway, a nice short little getaway...

nothing much special actually... just too many works as the PA position still haven't filled. sigh. 3 more days to bkk. can't wait (yet not ready)... sigh, need to go to DG right after i come back.. how "lucky" @_@''

looking forward to bkk trip.... lots of food... books.. and just do nothing hahaha

Dream place...

Went to see one of the flats from 星灣峰 (The Oakridge) - 38/F Flat D with top roof!

For the flat itself it's similar to 30/F except the ceiling is THIRTEEN FEET!! it's tall enough that the current owner actually made a little attic / loft in the bedroom! (but if i stay there i'll take it down such that i can enjoy the talll ceiling! The little balcony (is too little) but good place for having a cup of coffee or sth overlooking kowloon side! :D

Next went up to the roof - OMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG the view is marvelous (I should have taken picts!!!) Overlook the harbor and can see kowloon even better than the view from the flat - and when u look up u just feel so much closer to the sky (and moon) (okay, maybe b/c i've never stay as high as 38/F!)....

Alright, after talking about so much (still another millions of reason for one to love the flat) - down to the pt is the financing - of course it's totally totally out budget la @_@

At least saw the DREAM PLACE - now go back to reality and work hard *SIGH*

so things have been firmed and started apt hunting...

well, the thing is buying is very $$ now, so considering renting... however w/ the fact that having Elvin w/ me, wanting to stay on HK island, looking for apt that is less than 30 yrs old, size >500ft.... don't leave too much choices w/ all these criteria!!

it's just difficult either buying / renting!!

Chibi Maruko Chan Backpack : 小丸子背囊

Mission complete! YEH!! :DDDDDDD

it first came out as part of the "gift" items from 7-11 recent promotion. I have never been Maruko's fans (although I ALWAYS think she looks like my sis when she was young!) yet this little backpack is just so cute wanna get it (originally for my mobile)

However it all sold out right away when it first came out on June 24!! Previously the staff said 2nd batch will come ~ Aug and w/ Din's help I found out the EXACT release time for the 2nd batch: July 29th, SEVEN AM SHARP!!!!

It's absolutely impossible for me to get up (and ready to go downstair's 7-11) at 7AM! (it's hard not to be late!!) HOWEVER WITH MOM'S HELP she got me one!! (and i heard each 7-11 only got allocate a couple of them!) yeppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(although, I found out later that it's a just a bit too short for my mobile!) LOL... ha, I'll just put it in the office - and some of the other colleagues just fail to get one!!

Book Exhibition 2009

I just realize that i didn't even blog what I got for 2008!! Oh such a great excuse for not keeping track what i've read and what i haven't for the past yr.. :P

Actually i think i've been very lazy on reading in the PAST TWO yr... geez, i've to work harder (e.g. less happy farming!) in order to catch up my readings...

Fall of the Pop King...

so i was actually looking fwd to his concert in London (not that I can make it there, but was hoping he would do a world tour after London!) yet it's just totally shocking to learn from the news this morning that he has past away!

I didn't grown up with the Jackson's 5 (COME ON I'm not THAT OLD! !! HAHAHA yet, enough "re-run" on MTV during my high school time! not to mention their song "ABC") I remember my first LD at home (i.e. before i went to Boise!!) was MJ's Moonwalker!!! that's like so precious as it's the FIRST ever LD at home!! (and you can imagine it just show again and again!!) LOL

I don't know what'd happened to the LD (i guess it's "gone" once the LD player was replaced by DVD player?

It's a lost to the world's pop music - he's not only an American Idol, he's truly a world class. I'm sure no one will deny it. Although I don't agree w/ his personal life (quite a mess!) yet I really love his voice (his slow song is very good!!! You are not alone is one of the best!). It's just so unique and so comfortable to listen to. Of all of his outstanding music videos, I love the Thriller the most (esp. when they show it during Halloween! EVERY YEAR! ) LOL.... for those who's too young to know about what i'm talking about, chk out the below (hope they won't remove it soon)...

20 yrs... the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre

I remember I was in P.6, I don't think I know much about the Red China back then, I was too young.

I do remember photos w/ tanks running over students, every day shocking photos on newspapers' cover page...

I bought a photo magazine issued back then - buying those magazine w/ my very limited pocket money is consider as a "luxury".

Yet, as many other HKese back then, I have no confident w/ the Chinese Gov't, not sure what could happen after the 97 turn over! I wanted to make sure my family and I would not get in any type of trouble if one day the Chinese military (解放軍) search my house and found that book!!

So I put the precious magazine in my High school time capsule - just make sure I won't get in trouble w/ the Red Chinese...

It has been more than a decade since HK returned to the "Red Chinese". With the very limited exposure w/ China in the last few yrs I had a mixed feelings w/ our motherland: I wouldn't say I know China a lot (still have a natural "repelling" feeling of the Chinese gov't), yet, I think the "hate" part has dilute a bit.

I do think the Chinese Gov't has tried and improved (to become more open) when compare w/ where she was 20 yrs ago, yet, w/ a western educated background, for sure I think there're still lots of rooms for her to "improve"...

I didn't go to Victoria Park tonight, yet, I didn't forget what'd happened 20 yrs ago.
